Dr. Robert Degeneﬀ is president of Utility Systems Technologies, Inc. (UST), a national leader in the design and manufacture of electronic voltage regulators and power conditioning equipment. He is also a consultant to the utility industry. Prior to assuming his role at UST, Dr. Degeneﬀ was a professor of electric power engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York for 17 years. There, he was involved in research regarding the design and performance of utility and industrial power apparatus. Before joining RPI, Dr. Degeneﬀ was with General Electric for 16 years. He initially served as a senior development engineer in GE’s Large Power Transformer Department and later as a manager in various positions of increasing responsibility in the power transformer, HVDC systems, and utility planning businesses.
